The Other Guys double up Inception to take the top spot in this weekend box office numbers. In it’s first weekend of being released, The Other Guys scored big with box office viewers by bringing in a hefty comedy, which amassed $35.6 million compared to the $18.6 million Inception brought in bringing them down to #2 in the box office. Step Up 3D came in a positive #3 with $15.5 million followed by Salt at #4 with $11.1 million and bringing up the rear another comedy Dinner for Schmuchs cashed in with $10.5 million. Hollywood Reporter writes that ‘Family Guy’ creator Seth MacFarlane signs a record deal with Universal Republic Records to deliver an album of 1940s and ’50s show tunes paying tribute to Broadway classics.
Variety reports that Disney has made some tweaks to it’s upcoming line up of movies by removing a 3D remake of “Beauty and the Beast” from its 2011 launch and Pixar’s toon “Newt” from it’s 2012 launch.
