Apologies in advance, but the boards aren’t finished yet. The late execution of the previous assignment offset the flow of this week’s assignment. And so, instead of trying to spend 20+hours to rush-work the boards to turn it in (the way I usually do it), I’m trying to carefully plan out the phases of my fight seq to make sure it has all the things I want in it. Overall, I’m liking this assignment; it’s got me pumped to the point of going overly ambitious on how things should play out.
I did some sketches to see if I had the capacity to execute certain ideas (sorry if they only make sense to me). The big issue is the lack of an interactive environment to help the actions make sense. I didn’t think much about the battlefield, so I’m going back to develop it and have it make more sense with the actions and hopefully provide opportunities for better composition/shot choices. I really want to have this one turn out badass (because fight sequence).
TL;DR – Boards aren’t done; I haven’t abandoned the idea, so they will be.
Looking good. This is a great way to work out your ideas. Don’t forget the importance of looking at film reference.
Consider this a first pass.
I wanted to include more ninja actions (chains throwing daggers, shadow tricks, etc) so I intended this to be twice as long as it shows. I got bogged down with intricacies of choreography and screen direction in the beginning so that’s why Scene 6 is missing.
Even then, it’s not finished. I’ve had issues with accessing my machine, which is also why I can’t assure it’ll be completely finished any time soon. I’m gonna take a hiatus from this project to handle personal priority errands so apologies for not seeing this to the end in any short time soon, but I wanted to get what I had up to show what I had planned going on.
Though my access to my files will be an issue, I’ll still be able to check the forums so Feel free to check and critique and I’ll take it to mind.
