I started working on a Comic called Sanguine, about vampires and here are my thumbnails/layout/roughs for it.
Looks good. Like the angles. looking forward to seeing the finals.
Thanks Santosho, I think I’m gonna flip panel 4 horizontally and make the Pope lead us into the final panel. I don’t like how it “feels” at the moment although I think it works as far leading the eye or story wise but I just think it would be better to flip the panel … not sure why I feel that way, any thoughts, ideas… anyone:)
BTW. Forgot to mention this was done in Manga Studio ex5.
A little more progress, splash pages always give me trouble for some odd reason, most artists thrive on them … not me.
Here’s a sketch from my Manga Studio EX5 Dabbles – trying to get out of the sketchy style that I use to make storyboard but I cannot seem to do it, or is it that sketchy is my so called “natural style”
Wow these are great! I really like your loose style. On your Sanguine page1 the layout is really nice and clear. My only critique would be to keep pushing the depth in your panels and really exaggerate big vs. small shapes. Keep in mind things that are closer and further away from the camera. For instance the very bottom left panel “come on don’t make me spell it out…” we are below the preachers arm looking up at the gun man. That can be a great opportunity to push some perspective! Maybe make the figure of the Preacher closer to the camera and the gunman further back to make it more dramatic. Thanks for posting!
Great advise jess, I will definitely keep your tips in mind when I tighten the pencils
