Live Action Story Artist
Tim Burgard is a Californian native that chose drawing pencils over a surfboard at a young age. Tim graduated from Art Center College of Design, where he currently teaches. He expanded his drawing skills into careers in the comic book, animation and film industries, but is best known as a storyboard artist. His film work ranges from “Terminator 2” on through “Thor”, “Rise of the Apes” and “The Help” to the up coming “Jurassic World”, “Geostorm”, and “Fantastic Four”.
Giancarlo Volpe
Animation Director
Annie Award winning director Giancarlo Volpe has over 14 years experience in animation, collaborating with many industry greats: including famed filmmaker George Lucas and animation legend Bruce Timm. Volpe has worked on various high profile television shows including Avatar: The Last Airbender, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Green Lantern: The Animated Series. Volpe is known for his strong sense of action, humor, and story telling.
Robert Valley
Animation Director
A bad ass Story Artist, a rocking Animator- Robert Valley is awesome. Most recently Robert won an Annie Award for his character design work on the animated Disney series Tron. Robert’s work is all over spots for Nike, Coca-Cola, the Gorillaz music videos, Aeon Flux with Peter Chung, and many others. Always an approachable and humble leader in the visual field, he is a pioneer in visual styles and film making. Octavio Rodriguez
Pixar Story and Development Artist
Octavio Rodriguez is a veteran story artist and story developer who has worked for over 18 years at some of the finest animation studios including Starz, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros, Cartoon Network, Disney, Nickelodeon, and Lucasfilm animation. Currently, he is working as a story artist at Pixar Studios.
Sam Hood
Pixar Story Artist
Sam is an Annie Award winning animation director and story artist rooted with a strong traditional 2D background. A master of comedic scenes and emotion, Sam has worked on feature film and animation projects for studios such as Bluesky, Wildbrain, and Pixar. Sam always injects personality and charm in his projects. His inspiring and entertaining teaching style is a joy to experience.
Spyros Tsiounis
Dreamworks, Lucasfilm Story Artist
Spyros has worked as a story artist at the top animation studios including Lucasfilm, Dreamworks, and Laika. His feature films and animation projects include Kung Fu Panda, The Bee Movie, Coraline, Stuart Little, Stuart Little 2, Shrek Forever After, Star Wars Clone Wars, and Star Wars Rebels. Spyros moved to the United States from his native Greece as a 17-year old and attended the California Institute of the Arts. Currently Spyros is directing a ground breaking animated film using artists from around the world.
Sergio Paez
StoryboardArt Co-Founder
Sergio Paez is a San Francisco artist specializing in storyboards, animation, and visual development for TV, feature film, and games. Most recently he directed two episodes for the Lucasfilm animated series Rebels. His animation credits in the United States and Europe include projects for Pixar, Lucasfilm, Sony, and Sega. Sergio’s work is featured in The Art of Clone Wars published by Chronicle Books, in The Art of Darkwatch, published by Design Studio Press, and was featured at the Totoro Forest Project Art Exhibition. Sergio’s latest book Professional Storyboarding is the definitive guide for the story professional.
